New Family Adventures

Blogging? Me?  We'll see how long this will last. This will be a new adventure.  However, a greater adventure will be the arrival of our new baby! Baby Goertz #2 is due to arrive in early March of 2011!!!   We are all so excited and so ready for baby.  Alivia will be a big sister!  In the beginning, she would argue that the baby was in her belly. She'd become so frustrated when you tried to explain to her that the baby was in mommy's belly. Now, she tells everyone that "Mommy has a baby in her belly" and that she has a "new baby sister" on it's way.  We don't know just yet if it is a boy or a girl, we are only in our 13th week, but so far, all is well.

Alivia has started "big girl" school!!! She is only going 3-half days per week for now, which is just enough for both Alivia and mommy! She had a rough first day... after an hour of playing independently and not wanting anything to do with mommy and daddy (who were allowed to stay in the room for the first hour), she was the only one screaming and crying when it was time for us to leave. Well, she wasn't the only one crying, mommy was too.  Anyway, we both got through that next hour apart. She came out smiling and happy, so I assume all went well inside that classroom.  The next day, she went in so brave. Mommy couldn't be any prouder. She came out smiling and waving and had a smiley face stamp on her hand.  She looks so grown up in her cute, little school uniform as she walks out, leading the line, holding her teacher's hand and waving to me with the other. I feel like crying tears of joy and love each time I pick her up.
In addition to "big girl" school, we are officially potty trained and sleeping in a "big girl" bed.  Life is going by too fast for sure!  She also has to pick out her own outfits everyday! Mommy doesn't mind ALL the time.  She has 2 "big sister" t-shirts, but I need to get some more. That's all she want to wear these days!!!  I just know she's going to be the best big sister ever.  She wakes up in the mornings and kisses my belly.  She's already loving Baby and life is so good!
